Passage: The Gospel According to Luke Luke 15:11-32
A Parable is a ______________.
“Now the tax collectors and sinners were all drawing near to hear him. And the Pharisees and the scribes grumbled, saying, “This man receives sinners and eats with them.” So he told them this parable:”
Luke 15: 1-3
For this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found.’ And they began to celebrate.” Luke 15:22-24
The God of the scriptures is a God of abundance and provision.
‘Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep that was lost.’ Luke 15:6b
Rejoice with me, for I have found the coin that I had lost.’ Luke 15:9b
For this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found.’ And they began to celebrate.” Luke 15:24
But he was angry and refused to go in. His father came out and entreated him, Luke 15:25-28
We often picked being right over being redeemed.
“Just so, I tell you, there is joy before the angels of God over one sinner who repents.” Luke 15:10
Do we refuse to celebrate when the lost are found? Or do we rejoice with the angels?
