Second Article of the Nicene Creed:
“I believe in one Lord Jesus Christ,
the only-begotten Son of God…
God of God, Light of Light, very God of very God,
…who for us men and for our salvation came down from heaven

RESCUED from our INCARCERATION

“I believe in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary…”

“…to free those who all their lives were held in slavery by their fear of death.”  Hebrews 2:15

RESCUED by His INCARNATION

“For this reason He had to be made like His brothers in every way, in order that… He might make at-one-ment for the sins of the people.”  Hebrews 2:17

RESCUED by His HUMILIATION

“He suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried.”

“Since the children have flesh and blood, He too shared in their humanity so that by His death He might destroy him who holds the power of death—that is, the devil—and free those who all their lives were held in slavery by their fear of death.” Hebrews 2:14-15

RESCUED by His EXALTATION

“The third day He rose again from the dead.  He ascended into heaven and sits at the right hand of God the Father Almighty. From thence He will come to judge the living and the dead.”

“But we see Him who for a little while was made lower than the angels, namely Jesus, crowned with glory and honor because of the suffering of death, so that by the grace of God He might taste death for everyone.” Hebrews 2:9
