Passage: 1 Corinthians 12:12-27
MESSAGE NOTES
"Now you are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it." 1 Corinthians 12:27
1 Corinthians 12:12-14
As the church, we give thanks for our connected life.
"We were all baptized by one Spirit so as to form one body—whether Jews or Gentiles, slave or free—and we were all given the one Spirit to drink." 1 Corinthians 12:13
When a person becomes a Christian, he doesn’t just join a local church because it’s a good habit for growing in spiritual maturity. He joins a local church because it’s the expression of what Christ has made him—a member of the body of Christ. -Mark Dever
"Even so the body is not made up of one part but of many." 1 Corinthians 12:1
As the church, we celebrate one another’s gifts.
1 Corinthians 12:17
For the church is not a human society of people united by their natural affinities, but the Body of Christ, in which all members, however different, (and He rejoices in their differences and by no means wishes to iron them out) must share the common life, complementing and helping one another precisely by their differences. -CS Lewis
As the church, we gratefully develop and offer our gifts
1 Corinthians 12:24-26

- Take a stroll around the inside of the church on a Sunday morning.
- Ask someone who knows you what your gifts and abilities are.

- Look at the blank wall to the right of the pictures in the north hallway.
Not by might, not by power but by my spirit, says the Lord” Zechariah 4:6
"The church that is” is “the church that was” to “the church that is to come".
