Passage: James 5:7-20
MESSAGE NOTES:
“All things that matter require patience”
Be patient, therefore, brothers and sisters, until the coming of the Lord. James 5:7
We worship a patient God.
and you have seen the purpose of the Lord, how the Lord is compassionate and merciful. James 5:11b
The Lord is merciful and gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love. Psalm 103:8
God’s patience compels me to be patient in:
- Relationships
You also, be patient. Establish your hearts, for the coming of the Lord is at hand. Do not grumble against one another, brothers, so that you may not be judged; behold, the Judge is standing at the door. James 5:8-9
Do not speak evil against one another, brothers and sisters James 4:11a
- Suffering
As an example of suffering and patience, brothers, take the prophets who spoke in the name of the Lord. Behold, we consider those blessed who remained steadfast. You have heard of the steadfastness of Job, and you have seen the purpose of the Lord, how the Lord is compassionate and merciful. James 5:10-11
Be patient, therefore, brothers and sisters, until the coming of the Lord. See how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, being patient about it, until it receives the early and the late rains. James 5:7
For I know that my Redeemer lives, and at the last he will stand upon the earth. And after my skin has been thus destroyed, yet in my flesh I shall see God, Job 19:25-26
