Passage: Luke 6:20-26

MESSAGE NOTES:

The Lord has brought down rulers from their thrones but has lifted up the humble. He has filled the hungry with good things but has sent the rich away empty. Luke 1 52-53

What does Jesus mean by “blessed?” (not happy)
* You are satisfied and secure by God even in hardship
* You rely completely on God and not on yourself.
* When you have nowhere else to turn to, except God.

Blessed are you when people hate you and when they exclude you and revile you and spurn your name as evil, on because of the Son of Man! Luke 6:22

“Blessed are the…” This is not a prescription. This is a pronouncement.

Recognize right now your reliance upon God.

Jesus did not come to make you comfortable. Jesus didn’t come to make you happy.

Jesus came that you would know His blessing through His presence in your hurt, in your sadness, in your suffering. We cannot be passive We are called to bless others in Jesus’ name with His presence.
