October 22, 2023 | Dave McGinley
Passage: 1 Peter 5:1-11

“And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ….” 1 Peter 5:10a

“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance that is imperishable, undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven for you.” 1 Peter 1:3-4

We battle brokenness with HOPE

“And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you.” 1 Peter 5:10

Living hope battles brokenness in 4 ways
Living hope restores
Living hope confirms
Living hope strengthen
Living hope establishes

“Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you, casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.” 1 Peter 5:6-7

“It is curious that people who are filled with horrified indignation whenever a cat kills a bird can hear the story of the killing of God told Sunday after Sunday and not experience any shock at all.” -Dorothy Day

“And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you.” 1 Peter 5:10
