Passage: Matthew 6:25-34
MESSAGE NOTES: Life on the Rock: Worry - Matthew 6:25-34 NIV
"A troubled mind can make rocket science out of nearly everything."- Millie Florence
Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Matthew 6:25
Worry is a disproportionate level of concern based on an inappropriate measure of fear. - James K Smith
Jesus wants to QUESTION your worries, to INVITE you to experience the peace of His kingdom.
Isn’t life more than food or clothes? (v25)
Aren’t you more valuable than birds? (v26)
What does worrying add to your life? (v27)
Won’t God give you what you need? (v30)
Will he not much more clothe you…?
Your Father knows what you need.
In this world you will have trouble…
Seek first God’s kingdom
Seek first God’s kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.” Matthew 6:33
Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. 1 Peter 5:6-7
I don’t know your worries… but I know who your God is.
Practice of the Week: PRAYER
Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Phil 4:6-7
