SENIORS CONNECT: IN THE EYE OF THE STORM
Thursday, March 5 at 10:00 am, Friendship hall
Missouri is strategically located in the center of our country at the intersection of varying weather patterns. As a result, Missourians have seen serious floods like the Great Flood of 1993 (the most costly and devastating flood in modern U.S. history) and the 2011 Joplin tornado and many other disasters. These disasters have impacted thousands of lives and have caused billions of dollars in damages. Come and join us on Thursday, March 5 to hear from Amanda Clark of the Missouri Historical Society about these storms and catastrophes in Missouri and learn why this history from our past is still important to us today. To let us know you will be joining us, please RSVP by clicking on the button below. And be sure to invite a friend. We will meet in the Friendship Hall at church at 10 am for fellowship, a light breakfast, a devotion and trivia, too! You won't want to miss it!
Also, at our March and April meetings, we will collect men's boxer briefs (not boxers or briefs) in sizes M-XXL, in any color, for St. Trinity in Soulard. For people experiencing homelessness, undergarments are among the most needed items. For information about boxer briefs (as opposed to boxers or briefs), check out his link https://a.co/d/0hUWZddL on Amazon. There will be collection boxes at the doors when we meet together on March 5 and on April at each entrance. These boxer/briefs are also available at Sam's (on sale through February 22) and other retail stores.
