Serving Our Neighbors - Locally and Globally

Missions Ministry

God is on a mission in our world, and we are honored to join in. Our Missions Ministry focuses on cross-cultural connections, looking for ways we can understand needs and generously serve communities while sharing the Gospel.  You can get involved in a variety of ways, including serving with our Missions Leadership Team, as Short-term Trip Leaders, or with our local partner organizations and events:

  • In the St. Louis area, individuals can serve with various events throughout the year with International Student Ministry, Christian Friends of New Americans, All Nations Church, or with after school outreach programs with Bethlehem Lutheran in North St. Louis.
  • Step out a few hours to Sedalia and work with folks at Iglesia Luterana Amigos de Cristo on our family Sedalia Mission Trip in the Fall.
  • Serve internationally with short-term teams in Mexico and Belize.  Trip dates vary each year, dependent on missionary needs and leader availability.
  • Individuals or families can prayerfully or financially support our local and global partnerships.

iServe Ministries

Are you passionate about serving your neighbor?  You and your family can help us serve locally here in St. Louis through the iServe ministry, where our purpose is to  share Jesus' love with our church neighbors/community as needs arise.  There are a variety of ways individuals can get involved throughout each year:

  • iServe Leadership Team: Help plan and lead ongoing or ad hoc events for our local St. Louis community.
  • Rapid Response Team:  This ministry team is dedicated to volunteering when smaller special project needs arise in our local community.
  • "Thank You" Events:  Each Spring we say "thank you" to all the first responders who serve us in our community by preparing food and sharing cards/notes of thanks.
  • The Big Rake:  Each November we serve the community by sending droves of small groups, families, and friends to rake yards for those who aren’t able to do so on their own.
  • Other Community Service Partnerships and Projects:  We are always interested in helping people in need in our community or hearing about potential partnership opportunities to connect individuals with local service organizations where possible.

Please contact Stephanie Bowman at   or call (314) 961-5275 if you are interested in getting involved with iServe ministries, need assistance from one of our programs, or have a suggestion for a new way we can help in our community.

WG Missions Ministry - Pray, Give, Go

Will you join our Missions ministry?  God calls us to be the hands and feet of Jesus with our community and world.  And we respond by serving our neighbors with love.  We begin with three steps: Pray. Give. Go. “You are the God who performs miracles; you display your power among the peoples.” (Psalm 77:14)

Pray

We are called to know God—and make Him known. Let’s join together as a church community to pray over 14 days for our Missions Ministry partnerships and planned trips for 2024.
