About Chris Clausen
Director of Worship and Creative Arts
As the Director of Worship and Creative Arts, I help connect people to Jesus using the arts. This includes hymns, praise songs, dramas, and the environment of the sanctuary. Thus, part of my job is making sure the “arts” line up with the theme of the worship services. I have a master’s degree in music, but I have been a teacher, a salesman, an optician, and a few other random things. However, after 15 years, Jesus called me out of my self-centered complacency, and I began to serve Him in ministry. I have primarily been a church music director since then. I have served in SIX different denominations and am even ordained in one. I’m truly passionate about helping people experience, know, and love our radical God. I want all to taste and see that the Lord is good!
At home, I’m a proud husband to my wife, Paige, and we are blessed with six children from ages eight to 21. We are also blessed with a 19-year-old Latvian exchange student living as part of our family. Interestingly enough, our family is also distantly related to both Jesse James and President Ulysses Grant. I am an advocate for adoption, and currently there are more than 153 MILLION orphans in the world. Every person deserves a mom and dad – YOU CAN DO IT! (James 1:27).
