Upcoming Events At Laclede Groves

Webster Gardens Hymn Festival at Laclede Groves
June 15, 2017 at 1:30 p.m. in the Chapel

Pastor Geis leads a narrative around six hymns of Paul Gerhardt in our summer service. Gerhardt grew up in turbulent times marked by bloodshed in the name of God during the Thirty Years War. God called him out of those dark days to be a pastor and voice of hope. His remarkable career is eclipsed by the large legacy of hymns he wrote which share his profound joy in Jesus. Even Bach would include Gerhardt’s poetry for several cantatas decades later. His vivid, earthy, and timeless expressions of the Gospel continue to inspire Christians from many traditions and cultures.

Webster Gardens Reformation 500
September 21st at 1:30 p.m. in the Chapel

Pastor Geis leads a special celebration of the 500th Anniversary of the Reformation including hymnody, scripture  and stories of how the Reformation continues to be a worldwide movement of the Gospel for Christianity today.
